Bromley Football Club are hosting a benefit game on Sunday 21st September at Hayes Lane between a Legends XI and a Bromley XI. The game is to raise money for Rob Hughes, a Bromley player who was brutally attacked while on holiday in Crete.
Here is the ITV report on it: http://www.itvlocal.com/london/news/?player=LON_News_15&void=230714
Rob was in Crete to celebrate his 28th birthday when he was brutally attacked and left in a coma and is still in hospital in Crete where he has made a dramatic recovery. He has had 4 operations and had part of his skull removed and was given 48 hours to live but has recovered and is now in a stable condition, however he is never going to return to how he was.
On the Sunday of the game, all the money raised will be going to Rob and his family so we are holding a footballing memorabilia auction in our bar after the game which will also try and help raise money for Rob.
We were enquiring to find out if it would be possible to get anything that we would be able to auction to raise money for Rob.
We would also be wondering if you would be able to put an article on your site to raise awareness of what has happened to a fellow footballer, and how horrific this is
